As a mental health therapist I am passionate about the care and recovery of those who have faced trauma caused by domestic violence, sexual assault, generational harm, emotional neglect, attachment wounds, divorce, singleness, and more. My goal is to work together with those I serve in my therapy space, passing on all the information I have learned in my years of study.
I’ll invite you to learn to speak aloud your unique life story because I believe that you will learn to heal from the negative impact of anxiety, depression, isolation, etc. caused by difficult experiences and circumstances with more information about where you’ve been. Much of the work you will do in session with me rests at the intersection of relational neuroscience, story work, and healthy, boundaried attachment.
Together we will help you discover healthier coping skills, boundaries to keep your relationships healthy and happy, mindful body awareness, and decision-making skills. We all make decisions based on the information available to us, my goal is to give you a wider perspective and learn about you through a holistic, scientifically based way of thinking and exploring.
I am currently studying for my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with a focus on Advanced Clinical Therapy. My research is largely based on dissociative disorders caused by complex trauma and how the integrative science of interpersonal neurobiology can help my patients heal and recover. With a Master of Arts from Western Seminary I am a nationally board certified counselor and dual licensed to serve residents of Washington and Oregon both online and in person.
I have pursued extensive training in the art of identity formation and trauma recovery as a Story Informed Trauma Therapist, a model of therapy created by Byron Kehler, and have spent many years in immersive training in interpersonal neurobiology based on the work of Dr. Dan Siegel and Dr. Bonnie Badenoch.
I am also a member of the American Counseling Association.
More than anything, though? I’m really glad you’re here.
